Families to Familias: IGN Teams Experience Building Hope One Family To Another

 Imagine:

Every time it rained…

You feared your house would be swept away in the torrent.

You needed buckets to catch the water pouring through the roof.

Rivers of sewage flowed through your living room and bedroom.

You had limited public services:

Electricity, water, sewer, garbage pick-up were the exception and not the rule.

Your children had to walk miles to go to school.

The police terrorized you instead of protecting you.

Fire & ambulance services were unavailable.

You lived without safety or security:

Your children were in constant danger of a variety of different predators.

Your possessions were never safe.

You were a prisoner of your own home.

How well would we fair under these kinds of conditions?

Through the Families to Familias program INVISION GLOBAL NETWORK is partnering with indigenous people to address the physical, emotional and spiritual poverty that many families around the world are facing.

Please consider taking part by supporting the Families to Familias program, where families here at home will partner with families in other parts of the world building hope one family to another.  Your contribution is tax deductible.  Click on ChipIn in the box above to support the efforts of IGN and Families to Familias

A New Year

It amazes me how fast time flies by. Here I am writing about the new year and it is already Jan 27th, a month into 2011. I am so blessed and have so much to be grateful for. I also look to live life fully... fully engaged, fully my true self, fully present, fully committed, fully....

At the start of the new year a wrote a prayer for my life. Here is my prayer:

Lord I pray for you to guide my way. Bring me a companion for the journey, a strong mind, body, and faith to overcome any obstacles; wisdom, knowledge, and discernment to know what to do in any circumstance; courage, strength, and endurance to go the distance. Ears to hear, eyes to see, hands to do the work you have called me to, feet to carry me there, and a heart to love you and all people in the same way you have loved us.
